Teacher of a school that adopted the Primes after a session down in San Diego back in 2017. Right off the bat and over the last 3 years, the calculators, one by one, have had the same charging issue brought up in the various forum posts. When plugged into a power source, the calculator turns on. When disconnected, the calculator automatically turns off.
We have tried....
1) Disconnect battery, plug into power source, re-install method - fails 100% of the time.
2) Upgrading to the newest firmware (currently on 2021 05 05 // 2.1.14588): All affected calculators are Hardware Version C - does not fix problem at all
3) Went back to method #1 after completing #2 - fails 100% of the time.
4) Attempted to use an old Samsung S3 battery out of frustration - worked... I do not feel my admin staff is going to look at the possibility of buying multiple class sets of batteries lightly.
At this point, with so many of the older forum posts now archived, I ask, is there been a fix or a firm solution to this problem? We know that we can have students just "plug it in to their laptops" and use them, but that eliminates the possibility of the wireless adapter/network that we use in order to deliver lessons.
We have tried contacting HP directly in the past - but literally a week after the issues started to show up, the point of contact retired and we were given a run-around of phone tag of jumping from one person to another.
