HP Recommended

Simple question, my hp f660g dashcam has a 32gb sd card which the dashcam it self formats, I went to check my recordings and saw that the sd card was only half full (15 to 16GB free of 32GB), after checking the recordings it seems that the dashcam is looping and deleted old footage before even reaching half the capacity of the dashcam, is this intended behavior? is there a way to change this?
