Hello! I recently was able to fix my HP Stream 8 after two years of leaving it untouched since it was broken. Now, I have a new problem I am facing with this tablet and that is that I cannot install this touchscreen driver known as "Goodix Touch Controller Driver". When I got through the agree page and all that, now it is the installaion bit.
But everytime I try to install the drivers, all I find is this from a command pop-up:
c:\swsetup\SP72185>echo off
Start install GoodixTouchDriver...
Initialize the enviroment
The system cannot find the file specified.
The system cannot find the file specified.
Could Not Find c:\windows\inf\gt9*.bin
.\GT*.bin
The system cannot find the file specified.
0 file(s) copied.
copy Touchsetting.gt to c:\windows\inf
1 file(s) copied.
Scanning for new hardware.
Scanning completed.
Updating drivers for ACPI\GDIX1001 from c:\swsetup\SP72185\package\GoodixTouchDriver.inf.
devcon.exe failed.
GoodixTouchDriver installation failed !
Press any key to continue...
Any solutions for this? Let me know on why it is happening.
Cheers.

Late response but thank guys, but however I already solved the problem. All I did was install this which for whatever reason made my tablet work such as my touchscreen and also audio because it also didn't work, I may have installed something that also did the trick but after this got installed, my tablet restarted in potrait mode and everything worked,:

Welcome to HP Support Community
May I know from where are you downloading the driver?
If you require any HP drivers, I suggest you download and run the HP Support Assistant from this Link: https://www8.hp.com/us/en/campaigns/hpsupportassistant/hpsupport.html?jumpid=va_r602_us/en/any/psg/p...
HPSA will automatically search for all the latest drivers for your Notebook
-
Click My devices in the top menu, and then click Updates in the My PC or My notebook pane.
-
Click Check for updates and messages to scan for new updates.
-
Review the list of updates. Updates with a yellow information icon are recommended. Updates with a blue information icon are optional.
-
Click the update name for a description, version number, and file size.
-
Select the box next to any updates you want to install, and then click Download and install.
Also ensure Windows is up to date.
Select the Start button, and then go to Settings > Update & security > Windows Update , and select Check for updates. If Windows Update says your device is up to date, you have all the updates that are currently available
Keep me posted how it goes
Thank you and have a wonderful day 😊
