I have a relative new Omen Laptop , it sent me some message in the Omen Center that I need to update my Bios ( have no idea what is this) so I did. When the laptop finally power up it looked brand new - but I checked all my files is in the recycle bin. How can I restore it to the way it was before?

With all the settings and stuff?

@Avi28

Thank you for posting on HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, I have a few troubleshooting steps we could try to fix the issue:

If your Recycle Bin is empty, you have lost access to the file, but that doesn’t mean it’s gone forever. Restoring Windows to a previous version, also known as a “shadow copy,” may help to restore files. Here are the steps to follow to complete this task:

  1. Click on the Start button and select Computer
  2. Open the directory and find the direct location, such a C:/ or Documents, where the deleted file was originally stored
  3. Right-click this folder. Then, select Restore previous versions
  4. Choose the previous version that you wish to restore. You may have several to choose from, so pick the date in which you knew the item hadn’t been deleted yet. Double-click this version. Whether it’s one file or an entire folder you wish to restore, you may choose it from the earlier configuration of your computer
  5. After the file or folder has been identified in the version you need, drag the item to another location, such as your desktop

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
