Hello, I have had this problem for some time now (Since around Nov 29) and I cannot stress enough, the importance of solving this matter. I opened up my HP laptop and put on my Microsoft account so that I could locate my device if it were to be lost. Soon after, I decided to test out the" lock" feature, In an attempt to see how well it worked) assuming that there would be a button that would unlock my computer as well. Unfortunately, no such button was seen and upon turning on my computer 2 hours later I found myself to be locked out, with a message stating I needed administrative approval to unlock it and a box under that for a pin. My pin which i had just set up for Hello Windows, (as of that momen. I have legit credentials, login names, passwords, etc... I'm only asking if anyone could help me find where such an option may exist within my account. My warranty has expired and i cannot afford to pay for help which upon researching the matter, appears to be the only options when contacting hp.
However, since that problem has presented itself, things have escalated as I was in the bios. I saw an option to change the admin password and stupidly thought that would change the password to get me in through my locked Windows hello account. Therefore, now I am locked out of my own computer completely because it's not reading the password that I put for that either. So, I was wondering if anyone could help on locating where the CMOS dip switch is so that I can reset the bios admin password or give an idea on where the dip switch would be found on the motherboard. Please help, it'd be greatly appreciated.
