HP Stream 8 Tablet - 5909
Linux

I am writing to ask for help running Raspbian OS on an HP Stream 8 tablet. This tablet has one USB micro port and one SD card slot.

The current version of Windows is proving to be too much for the hardware, and I am testing whether I can get better performance with a Linux distribution. I went with Raspberry Pi OS because it maintains a 32-bit distribution, and the Stream 8 is a 32-bit machine.

I tested booting both from a USB micro flash drive and from the SD card slot. I can't see the SD card when I boot into the BIOS, but I can see the ISO file on the flash drive.

The trouble with the flash drive is that, when I get to the screen where I have to select one of the following options, I need both arrow keys and an enter key:

GNU GRUB version 2.04-20

Run with persistence

Run and reset persistence

Graphical install

Install

Install with speech synthesis

If I don't touch any buttons, I can by default launch the Run with Persistence option. The volume-up and volume-down buttons function as up and down arrows, but there doesn't appear to be a way to hit Enter. This is a tablet, so there's no attached keyboard. I can't plug in a keyboard because the one micro USB slot is taken up with the flash drive booting the ISO.

Any suggestions on how to hit Enter when I get to this screen? Thanks much.
