problems with spell checker and predictive text

HP Recommended
hp chromebookx360 s

I cannot get spellchecker to work properly,  it only recognises some miss spelling and then when it does I get a message to say "undo", it misses some serious spelling mistakes all together nor can I get Predictive text to work at all. I have followed the instructions to get these working and took the chromebook back to the place I bought it but they were unable to help try as they might. Help please
