You might want to try and clean  the printer head/cartridges. I'm not sure if you got this problem after installing new ink. The print head and cartridges have always been the problem for me when I get lines on my prints... Hope this helps..  art

Hi @chelsea8,

If there is static interference, or loose connections with the product, this can result in bands or lines in the copy, fax, or scan output.

To resolve this issue, check the product connections and reset the product.
  1. Disconnect the power cord
  2. Disconnect the USB cable
  3. Wait 2 minutes with the printer off and disconected.
  4. Reconnect the power cord direct to a wall connection.
  5. Press the Power button () to turn on the product.
  6. Connect again the USB cable.
  7. Try again the scanning.
If you completed all the preceding steps and your product still has an issue, service the product.

Check your product warranty to determine if your printer is still under warranty, and then Contact HP Support to schedule a repair or replacement.
