Hello!
We do have Poly CCX series signed in to Teams.
It was all working fine with version 8.1.6.
But when we have upgraded to 9.0 and above, we bumped into error: " Device Administrator is disabled"
I understand that DA will be end of support by 31st Dec 2024, and will be replace by AOSP.
However, here is my problems/questions:
1) We don't have a Device Administrator configuration for Android devices. This technology is being deprecated by Microsoft and we have never been using it in Intune since Microsoft advised not to do so (since years ago).
2) Poly ccx with 8.1.6 and older were used as unmanaged devices protected by App Protection Policies (so not involving any type of management from Intune like DA or AOSP)
3) AOSP for MS teams device is in Preview mode, and we are not able to create a Policy/Profile for Ms teams device due to Bug encountered. And we are unsure when is the AOSP for MS Teams will be Generally Available.
4) Teams Admin Center is pushing 9.0.0 updates periodically and i need to pause the update manually.
5) We are in the situation of DA will be depreciate and AOSP is still in preview mode.
6) Based on point 1,2, we never implement DA before and it registered as unmanaged devices when we are in version 8.1.6. But it seems to be enforced us to enroll DA/AOSP when we are in version 9.0.0 and above.
May i know if anyone has similar problem and how do you resolve it ? Or at least bypass the DA/AOSP enrollment and keep the device to be unmanaged like version 8.1.6 ?
My current workaround is to keep devices stay in 8.1.6 or downgrade the devices with 9.0.0 to 8.1.6
Thanks!

Hello !
So, we found the root cause, thanks to HP Support:
In firmware 8.1.6 - it is not essential to enroll into intune: 'Device Administrator' or the 'AOSP' profile.
but with firmware 9.0.0 - it's based on Android 12, which required to enrol either 'Device Administrator' or the 'AOSP' profile.
Here are the potential solutions:
1) enable 'device administrator' in intune
2) wait for GA release of AOSP for Teams Device
3) wait for subsequent compatible firmware version that will resolve the issues that mentioned above.
4) keep the device in 8.1.6 version and roll back the 9.0.0 devices if the sign in issue happened.
