Hi,

I've been reading about the issues with the Poly CX300 R2 USB Desktop phone not working with New Teams so I thought I'd give it a go.

I read that the CX300 R2 was fully functional on Classic Teams so to get it working I did the following

1) I dug out my old Windows 10 laptop which had both Classic and New Teams installed

2) loaded up Classic Teams and tested the CX300 R2 : it worked with full functionality (my name is on the display along with the time and date, dialpad buttons work, I can make/receive calls - shows caller ID/number inbound & outbound, mute button works too - all good)

3) then ticked the "Try New Teams" button on my Win10 laptop. The display on the CX300 went a bit squiffy but everything still worked with fully functionality as before in Classic Teams

Then decided to try and install Classic Teams on my Windows 11 laptop as I thought that the Classic Teams drivers might be what was missing

So I then installed Classic Teams on my Windows 11 laptop using software at this link

https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=2187327

Note - New Teams didn't get uninstalled or overwritten when I did this.

Afterwards, loaded Teams normally, but even though it defaults to New Teams, the Classic Teams drivers are still active so I've been able to use the Poly CX300 R2 with full functionality on a Windows 11 laptop running New Teams

Again the display gets a bit squiffy when you start it up or unplug the USB cable, but other than that it seems to work wonderfully.

Conclusion - Based on my findings,

1) The Poly CX300 R2 worked with all functions on both a Windows 10 and 11 laptop running New Teams provided Classic Teams was still installed

2) This is not something I could ever recommend to do in a corporate or production environment as its using drivers from end-of-life software to work. It may even stop working if the next Windows Update cleans Classic Teams off my PC

3) However it may be possible to identify the exact drivers in Classic Teams and then extract and use them as the audio drivers for the Poly CX300 R2 without having to install Classic Teams

4) Finally, from a proof of concept point of view, it was satisfying to get it working and it certainly beats using a headset when making and receiving Teams calls.

I hope this has been useful
