According documentation, "On non-web platforms it is assumed that the application can query the serial number of the headset."

I retreive  serail number this way :

SetupDiGetDeviceInstanceId(hDevInfo, &DeviceInfoData, serial_num, MAX_PATH, NULL)

but

connect_headset(serial_num) fail.

I tried some harcoed values, all failed .

connect_headset("VID_047F&PID_AC01&MI_00");
connect_headset("\\VID_047F&PID_AC01&MI_00\\7&33456820&0&0000");
connect_headset("7&33456820&0&0000");
connect_headset("\\7&33456820&0&0000");
connect_headset("&33456820&0&0000");
connect_headset("33456820&0&0000");
connect_headset("USB\\VID_047F&PID_AC01&REV_0190& MI_00");

I currently use a Plantronics Savi 7.

The goal of the implementation is not obtain by code the serial number whater the device, including plantronics devices.

Thank you for your response @JC367,

I understand you’re looking for the serial number of your Savi Series headset, and I’m happy to help guide you. You can easily locate it through the Poly Lens application. Simply install Poly Lens on your PC, connect your headset, and then navigate to the headset information section—your serial number will be displayed there.

You can install Poly Lens using the following link: HP Poly Lens App – Manage Your Devices and Improve Communication with Ease | HP® Official Site

I'm not looking for  the serial number of your Savi Series headset.

I'm looking for a way in C++ code to retreive the serial number of the headset connected to any PC.

I guess serial number retreival needs to use Win32 API, can you confirm ?

Can you provide a sample code that perform this, the goal is to use CallControlSDK C/C++ Win64.

Thank you for your response. @JC367,

I understand you’re looking to retrieve the serial number using C++ code, and I appreciate the initiative behind your approach. Unfortunately, HP does not provide an API or C++ method to access the headset’s serial number directly. However, you can easily obtain the serial number by using Poly Lens, our official device management application. Simply download and install Poly Lens, connect your headset, and the serial number will be displayed in the device information section.

Take care and have an amazing day!

Hello,

I would like to know how to use the CallControlSDK C/C++.

For sure , HP does not provide an API or C++ method to access the headset’s serial number directly.

But, how to get it (without Poly Lens, which is useless in development case) ?

HP Recommended

Thank you for your response. @JC367,

Thank you for the clarification. You are correct—HP does not provide an API or C++ method to retrieve the headset’s serial number. Aside from locating it directly on the device or viewing it through the Poly Lens application, there is unfortunately no other option to retrieve the serial number programmatically as you were expecting.

HP docuemntation says reverseAccording documentation, "On non-web platforms it is assumed that the application can query the serial number of the headset." => So how  HP suggest to query the serial number of the headset?
