Are you facing a No Audio or Low Volume issue on your Poly Blackwire Headsets? If yesClick here to view the solution!

8225M

Hi - I have both the older Plantronics Blackwire C725 and newer 8225 headsets and by far the C725 is easier to use, because it provides audio microphone feedback to the wearer, of the wearer's own voice.

The 8225 doesn't appear to do this, and so it's like trying to talk to someone with a pair of audio headphones blocking your voice- very difficult, and off-putting as you don't know how loud you're talking to the other person/group.

Does anyone know if the 8225 can be set to provide microphone feedback to the wearer, just like the C725 does?

Thanks in advance!

Chris

Hi @Chris_KK, Welcome to Poly HP Support Community.

I understand that you're looking for the same microphone feedback feature on the Blackwire 8225 that you enjoyed with the Blackwire C725. I completely empathize with how important this feature is for ensuring a clear and comfortable conversation.

The Blackwire 8225 does offer a Sidetone feature, which allows you to adjust the microphone feedback to your preference. You can change the Sidetone level to low, medium, or high. Here are the steps to adjust this setting using the Poly Lens application:

  1. Download and install the Poly Lens software if you haven’t already.
  2. Connect your Blackwire 8225 headset to your computer.
  3. Open the Poly Lens application.
  4. Navigate to Audio Settings.
  5. Look for the Sidetone options.
  6. Adjust the Sidetone level to your preferred setting (low, medium, or high).

If you need any further details, would request you contact our HP Support and our Support Engineers should be able to sort this out. HP Support can be reached by clicking on the following link.

Hi Salman

This sounds like what I'm looking for, thank you.  The only thing is, there is no Side Tone option in the Poly Lens Windows App (2.0.17.2119).  I'm using a Blackwire 8225 with up to date firmware (v 1.1166.73.2016).

Was the Side Tone option removed for this app/headset combination?

The menu options in the Poly Lens Windows app I have are:

General (Answering Call, Mute Reminder, Online Indicator, Mute On/Off Alerts, Hold Reminder)

Language (Language Selection)

Ringtones & Volume (Volume Level Tones, Volume Min/Max Alerts)

Advanced (Anti Startle, Noise Exposure, Hours on Phone per Day)

Reset Device

No Side Tone options are in this version - is this a known bug perhaps?

Thank you for your assistance so far

Chris

Thanks Salman

My original reply was incorrectly flagged as spam, so I'm doing a shorter reply in case it is not re-instated.

My Windows Poly Lens App has no Side Tone option, it's the latest version of the Windows App.

Is the Side Tone option still in the Poly Lens app, or has it been removed in the current version (2.017.2119)?

Thank you

Chris
