@Nageswar2, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you're experiencing issues with the microphone on your HP Pavilion 14 Laptop PC 14-dv2000. Let's go through some steps to help resolve this:

Check Microphone Settings in Windows

  1. Press Windows + I to open Settings.
  2. Go to System > Sound.
  3. Under Input, make sure the correct microphone is selected (e.g., Internal Microphone).
  4. Click Device Properties and ensure the volume is turned up and not muted.
  5. Use the Test your microphone feature to check if it's picking up sound.

Run the Windows Troubleshooter

  1. Go to Settings > System > Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters.
  2. Scroll down and run the Recording Audio troubleshooter.
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions.

Update or Reinstall Audio Drivers

  1. Right-click the Start button and select Device Manager.
  2. Expand Audio inputs and outputs.
  3. Right-click your microphone device and choose Update driver.
  4. Select Search automatically for drivers.

If that doesn’t help:

  • Right-click the microphone again and choose Uninstall device.
  • Restart your laptop. Windows will reinstall the driver automatically.

Alternatively, you can download the latest drivers from the HP website: Official HP® Support

Test with Voice Recorder

  1. Open the Voice Recorder app from the Start menu.
  2. Try recording a short clip to see if the mic is working.

Use HP Support Assistant

  1. Download or open HP Support Assistant from here - HP Support Assistant | HP® Support
  2. Run a hardware diagnostics scan to check for microphone issues.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
