Can someone provide troubleshooting for the plantronic Savi 8200 series USB DECT 6.0. The headset creates repeatitive scrambling scratching sounds when signed onto the computer, while joining meetings, or videos. That is the only sound that you can hear on the headset and through the base it's connected to even when the headset is turned off.

Hi @Nekeyar, Welcome to Poly HP Support Community.

I'm sorry to hear about the difficulties you're experiencing with your Savi 8200 headset. I understand how important it is to have a seamless experience, and I'd like to help you resolve the issue. Please follow the troubleshooting steps below to help improve the situation:

1. Check for Wireless Interference:

  • The DECT 6.0 frequency can sometimes be disrupted by nearby wireless devices. To minimize interference, try relocating the headset and base station away from devices such as routers, microwaves, or Bluetooth devices.

2. Update Firmware:

  • Make sure that both the headset and base station have the latest firmware. You can update the firmware using the Poly Lens application on the PC

3. Reconnect or Re-pair the Headset:

  • Try unpairing and re-pairing the headset with the base station. Ensure the headset is properly signed onto the base station by following the user manual instructions.

4. Check USB Port and Connection:

  • Verify that the base station is connected directly to a USB port on your computer, preferably a USB 3.0 port, rather than through a hub. You may also want to try different USB ports to rule out potential port-related issues.

5. Disable Audio Enhancements:

  • Audio enhancements on your computer could interfere with the headset's sound quality. To address this, disable any audio enhancements in your computer's sound settings:
    • Windows: Right-click on the speaker icon in the taskbar > select "Playback devices" > choose your headset > click "Properties" > under the "Enhancements" tab, check "Disable all enhancements."
    • Mac: Go to "System Preferences" > "Sound" > ensure no enhancements are enabled.

6. Test the Headset on Another Computer:

  • To rule out any issues with your computer, test the headset and base station on a different system. This will help determine if the problem is specific to your current setup.

7. Check for Software Conflicts:

  • Ensure that no other applications are running that could potentially conflict with your headset or its audio settings, especially conferencing software or device management tools.

If the issue still persists, I would request you contact our HP Support, and our Support Engineers should be able to sort this out. HP Support can be reached by clicking on the following link.
