Product: HP Z2 Mini G4 Workstation

I have a HP Z2 Mini G4 Workstation, recently bought a USB C 4K display screen to connect as an additional screen I experienced the following problems.

 

USB C

Tried all USB C ports, and none of them works to produce an image on the display screen, I then too the cable and connected the screen to my Chromebook through USB C, which had no issues.

 

HDMI

I then used the HDMI cable on the display panel, connected it to the displayport through a dongle that supports 4k, this however produced a very dull image that is only 1080p, whenI tried turning up the resolution to 4k, the screen goes blank. The HDMI to display port dongle is working with my iiyama monitor with no issue.

I then too the HDMI cable connected to the display panel, connected it to my Macbook pro 2014, which has the HDMI port, it worked instantly with a very high resolution image.

 

I am about to purchase a wireless display dongle to the ipad from Astropad, they come in either HDMI or USB C, I want to understand if there is a problem with this computer not able to display in alt mode via USB C at all?

 

Please help.
