Hi all and any advice welcome

I just got this system cheap as a project for me son to learn about pcs, I want to upgrade it as best we can with him. Not expecting super high end gaming. But would like to get it to play stuff like fortnite smoothly even if its low to medium settings. Current spec is amd x2 phenom b59 3.4ghz, 4gb ram, Intel hd 4200 graphics. Now I'm assuming I can bump it to a b99 but what recomendations are out there for better. No idea about graphics card but best possible would be nice as he can always move it to a new machine later, and again ram no idea about that this 1333hz and 1600hz ddr3 ddr3l stuff confuses me. And anything else to add to get this banger to be a half decent thing would be nice. Its hit a 1tb HD and 786g6 chip set . Am3 socket I believe.

Thanks for the help in advance
