pavilion p6
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have a Pavilion p6-2003w. I've upgraded it quite a bit from 4 gb of RAM to 8 GB, from the stock PSU to an EVGA 450W, as well as installing an SSD as the primary boot drive, and upgrading it to Windows 10 from 7. The only thing I haven't been successful in is Upgrading the CPU from the stock E2-3200 to the A8-3850 Quad Core that the support website says that this particular chipset supports.

Upon installing the new CPU the system boots but then shows nothing on the screen. When this reaction occurred I assumed that all my system needed was a bios update to make everything work, but as far as I can find there's isn't any bios updates for my system whatsoever and so I'm at a loss. My only other assumption would be that perhaps I just bought a faulty CPU, but I figured I'd check here before attempting anything else. Any thoughts and recommendations would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance!
