Hello HP community,
I noticed some PCs with the 339A motherboard using CPUs such as the 2nd generation Core i5, 3rd generation Pentium, low power "S" and "T" variants or Xeon E3s. None of those are mentioned in the Pro 6300 Product Specifications.
Used Xeon E3 CPUs are cheaper and have lower TDP than their Core counterparts. I am currently shopping for some cheap (prefereably HP) PC and an option to use Xeon would make the old Compaq Pro 6300 a relevant choice.
Does anyone have experience using Xeon E3 in this PC or the SFF variant? Does it require any modding? Even second-hand experience would be welcome at this point.
Thanks.
