Product: HP EliteDisplay E243m monitor with pop up camera

I have just bought an HP EliteDisplay E243m with pop up camera for video conferencing.  I  can't get it to work properly when i tried it.  During a conference call, whereas i could see everyone, they could neither see me nor hear me.

I am using the monitor with an ACER Tower PC.

 

The Monitor has a displayport 1.2 available.   The PC has  an HDMI, USB 2.0, USB 3.1, USB-C.

 

I am think I need a USB -C (PC) to Displayport (monitor) cable to connect the pc to the monitor.  Alternatively, an HDMI (PC) to Displayport (monitor) cable.  

 

Any suggestions?
