I have two HP E243m monitors set up in an extended configuration. These monitors feature speakers by Bang & Olufsen, but I have a pair of USB speakers that I use instead. The monitor speakers emit a very high frequency static noise that I cannot figure out how to stop.
It's not an LCD refresh whine, I've leaned in close and it is definitely coming from the speakers themselves. I was able to make one of them stop by going into Device Manager and disabling every sound output device other than the USB speakers I use. The one I was able to silence was the left monitor that Display Settings identifies as 1. However, the right monitor (2) is still making the noise. I've tried lowering the volume on it to zero using the underside buttons. I've tried updating the drivers and the firmware. The monitors have built-in webcams, and I've tried switching which webcam I use. I've even tried the monitors on different computers! Even when I shut the computer down, the noise persists for several seconds after all the other components have turn off.
This noise is driving me crazy and I can't figure out how I was able to make one monitor stop but the other won't!
