Elitedesk 800 G1 Mini
Linux

Hi, I've just moved countries and taken my Core i5 Intel GPU Elitedesk G1 Mini desktop with me. Back in the UK I was using the DVI-D connection without any problems but there are only HDMI/VGA monitors available where I moved to, and to make matters more difficult, only Displayport to HDMI adapters and cables.

I purchased a DP to HDMI adapter and don't get any signal (none detected according to a brand new Philips 25" monitor, and a slightly older Viewsonic 2476). I ordered an official HP DP to HDMI adapter at a lot of expense from Amazon in the US which also isn't working.

I've booted the machine via VGA but get a lot of 'shadow' on text that I can't get rid of in Windows or Linux on both monitors. I've tried both DisplayPorts on the back of the machine, tried both adapters on two Lenovo desktops and an Xtratech branded laptop and all three of those machines work fine.

I updated the BIOS (to 2.29 I think it is) but I don't even get a BIOS screen at boot up. The machine is still booting because I can log in to it via SSH from my phone. I've contacted a friend back in the UK as I had purchased 6 of these machines over two occasions and he kept hold of the others. Apparently these aren't booting with DisplayPort to HDMI either.

As an added issue the HP website says my serial number is not recognised nor the Product Number (J5V30UC), though I've found the same product number on third party websites.

Lastly, I have tried letting the machine boot all the way through to Windows 10 instead, as others have suggested Win 10 loads the drivers up at the last moment but I am still getting no display.

It appears there are no video options at all in BIOS, not even to change shared memory or which video ports should be primary. I'm only using one monitor and don't need any kind of dual monitor set up at this time. Any help appreciated, thank you.
