Product: Macbook Air
Operating System: macOS 10.15 Catalina

My new monitor HP 24fw with audio doesn't connect with my Macbook Air (OS Catalina). I checked with a friend's Macbook Air (High Sierra) and it works, so the cable HDMI to miniDP and the monitor work fine; I also checked my Macbook Air with same cable to my Samsung TV 50'' and they work fine, so my Mac's port is fine . The only pair not working together are my Mac and the monitor.

 

I also followed recommendations like putting my Mac to sleep, unplugging power, restarting SMC, restarting PRAM and NVRAM, nothing works. 

 

I'm frustrated, this is why I bought the monitor. Please help. Thanks.
