Hello, I purchased the HP Z27 and have been using it without a problem for the past 4 months. I use the HP Z27 with a 2019 MacBook Pro which runs macOS Catalina v10.15.7. Here are the specs:
2.4 GHz 8-Core Intel Core i9
16 GB 2400 MHz DDR4
Intel UHD Graphics 630 1536 MB
Realistically, the above mentioned specs shouldn't matter as the monitor was working fine with the laptop for the past 4 months. Then, all of a sudden last week the monitor began having issues connecting to my laptop. I would get errors such as:
Caution - An unqualitifed USB-C cable has been detected.
Please use a qualified HP USB-C cable supported by this monitor to ensure the best performance.
Sometimes I would get that no input signal was detected and that it's going to sleep.
I use the usb-C to usb-C wire that came with the monitor so I would assume that this wasn't causing the issue. Regardless, I purchased a new Belkin Thunderbolt 3 cable which offers up to 40 Gbps. After plugging this in however, it's giving me the same errors: Unqualified usb-c OR input signal not found. At this point, this is starting to make NO SENSE to me. The monitor was working fine with my laptop last week and has since then stopped working altogether, even with a brand new wire connection.
It's important to note that when I use the old original wire now, the Mac gives me a notification saying `USB Accessories Disabled. Unplug the accessory using too much power to re-enable USB devices' while of course, the monitor doesn't respond whatsoever.
Anyone have any ideas here? I've even tried resetting the SMC as well as the PRAM on my Mac. Hell, I even tried using my other two Windows laptops with both wires (original Usb-C as well as the new Belkin Thunderbolt), all for not.
Someone please shed some light.
