DreamColor Z32x
Other

I own an HP DreamColor Z32x and X-RITE i1Display Pro colorimeter.

I purchased the Z32x because it advertised that it had built in support for the i1DisplayPro. It wasn't until after my purchase that I learned that the monitor requires the HP-branded version of the i1DisplayPro, which is no longer sold.

Further, the software HP DreamColor Display Calibration NEVER works. It either gets stuck in an endless loop of "Checking colorimeter" or it gives me, "Cannot load settings from the monitor. Ensure it is connected and restart the program."

I am on a 2016 Macbook Pro running Mac OS 10.13 High Sierra.

Short of buying a Klein colorimeter, how can I calibrate my display?

Here is the console information for HP DreamColor Display Calibration when it gets stuck in the "checking colorimeter" loop -
