Hp Z2 Mini G3 Performance Workstation
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Thanks for helping... Brand new Hp Z2 Mini G3 performance workstation for a small test project. It came equipped with a SSD. Worked real fine.

I replaced the SSD by a 2.5in 320GB hdd for test purposes. Installed OS on it etc. Went all fine again.... (toshiba MQ01ACF032)

Then i replaced the 320GB hdd by a 2TB one (still 2.5in size of course so it could fit in). (seagate ST2000nx0253 by the way)

At first power up i got the message telling that hardware configuration did change (of course. I wasn't expecting nothing else cause there was no os yet) but the hdd failed to be detected (did not spin up because of power requirements i guess....)

I ended up putting back the 320GB hdd thats been working before but it did not detect anymore! (and do not spun up......................)  Tried the hardware disgnostic: No hdd being detected at all.

Tested by reinstalling the original SSD on the motherboard: Its working.

Looks like the something has failed regarding the 2.5in hdd interface... Drives been tested good on other system. Never thought i could blow up such an interface by putting a "larger" hdd......... Normally it just doesn't work.......... Look like i have an expensive paper weight now...

Any idea?

Thanks for helping 🙂
