HP ELITEBOOK 8760w
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

It began about six or more months ago, once every couple of weeks laptop would fail to post, leds would blink once on power up, then fans would come up full speed, followed by five short blinks on LEDs.

after holding power button depressed for a few seconds laptop shuts down, wait another few seconds and depress power button for a second or so, laptop powers  up and boots normally, then runs faultlessly for hours on end.

run all the diagnostics offered in bios and all pass.

Issue seems to be getting worse as it now happens every day,.

attempted remedies so far

1-replaced RTC BATTERY

2-re-installed new version of bios

3- re seated memory modules

none seem to make any difference

it seems that some hardware part fails post, is there a log file or a way to identify the failing part?

any help welcome
