Hello,

I installed the Kingston Q500 240GB SSD in the SATA bay where the spun drive was originally located. When installing Windows, the Drive was not detected.  I searched HP.com and several other sites and tried all suggestions found, but nothing worked.  I confirmed that the SATA/PWR connector was properly seated in the new drive, while doing this I noticed that there is a second drive bay in the upper left section of the chassis.  I installed the SSD in that SATA bay and the system recognized the drive WITHOUT any settings modifications or updates on all the remaining 800 G2s that I have.  Try this before racking your brain.

Be well,

Vec
