Product: HP Envy 700-060ea

Hi, I'm trying to resurrect a defunct tower which has a faulty MS-7826 motherboard.  Although I can replace the MB like-for-like, I would like to know the best compatible board for future upgrade potential - but which would still be compatible with the existing hardware. Lots of discussions on these fora (from several years ago) that the board can handle a  GTX 1060, but that's perhaps the upper limit?  Legit models of that card are maybe a little harder to come by now, so maybe better to look longer term and eventually get a newer card too?  Any suggestoins would be very much appreciated.
