HP 22cwa 21.5-inch monitor / HP Compaq 8200 PC
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My new monitor is not sending a signal to my TV when I try to connect with an HDMI cable. My computer does not detect a 2nd display, and the TV shows  the message "No Signal!"

The HP monitor is connected to a refurbished HP Compaq 8200 Elite Small Form Factor PC running Windows 10 Pro (64-bit).  All drivers appear to be up-to-date (checked using Device Manager).

This does not seem to be an issue with the HDMI cable or the TV. I have successfully connected the TV to 3 other devices (HP Chromebook, HP G62 laptop running Windows 10 Home, Lenovo ideapad laptop running Windows 10 Pro) using this HDMI cable.

Because the TV/2nd display is not detected by the computer at all, I am uncertain whether this is an issue with my monitor or with Windows 10 - after some research, it appears that HDMI connection does appear to be a common issue with 10. However, due to the fact I have not encountered this issue with my other two Windows 10 devices, I feel like it must be this monitor.

I have tried:

  • powering on/off and disconnecting/reconnecting my monitor and TV in various orders
  • trying 3 different HDMI cables
  • trying both HDMI 1 and 2 ports on TV
  • extending display, duplicating display
  • powering off the monitor, holding power button for 1+ minute, and resetting factory settings
  • restarting my computer with HDMI plugged in and not plugged into monitor
  • uninstalling HP My Display
  • updating and rolling back Intel HD Graphics driver
  • changing display resolution from 1920 x 1080 (resolution of monitor) to 1280 x 720 (resolution of TV)

Please help!
