HP Z440 Tower
NVIDIA NVS 315, Driver ver 391.33, DMS-59 dual-DVI splitter cable
Dell P2715Q Monitor (DP 1.2, 3840x2160) w/ DP in/out, mDP, and HDMI ports
LG 27EA63 Monitor w/ HDMI, DVI, and VGA ports
The HP Z440 is equipped with a graphics card with DMS-59 port; I have a DMS-59 to dual-DVI splitter cable.
The LG 27EA63 monitor HDMI is connected to one side of the DMS-59 via HDMI-DVI adapter cable.
The Dell P2715Q monitor is connected to the other side of the DMS-59 via: 1. DP-in port via DP-DVI adapter adapter cable, or 2. mDP port via mDP-DVI adapter adapter cable (I have tried both).
The LG HDMI connection works fine. However, the Dell DP/mDP connection results in a 'no signal' error from the monitor. Each time I have tried a different connection to the Dell monitor, I have restarted the PC. Note: connecting the Dell monitor via HDMI does work, unfortunately the connection is unacceptable as I do not get the desired screen resolution (max 1920x1080).
Both monitor and graphics card support DP 1.2. I upgraded the graphics card driver to the latest version.
So, what could be the problem? Why is the Dell monitor not seeing a signal on either the DP or mDP ports?
