I recently purchased an HP Z640 from Ebay with a Xeon E5-1650v3 processor for gaming and video editing.
I'am not able to overclock the CPU at all. Extreme Tuning Utility and Throttlestop won't let me change any Core Speed or multiplier they are all greyed out.
Is it possible that some of the Xeon E5-1650 v3 are locked ? I didn't find any other person with a locked E5-1650 v3 out there.
It is still the OEM HP Mainboard installed, and in the BIOS i also don't find any option to change the core ratio.
Is there maybe even a custom bios out there ? Do i have to check / uncheck some bios options to get the Intel XTU und Throttlestop to work ?
I also tried diffrent BIOS (2.32 Rev.A - 2.46 Rev.A) & Intel XTU (V3 - V6) versions but all didn't work.
Thanks already for all help to solve my issue.
Greetings, Spekterus
