Heres a detailed explanation of how I arrived at my problem.
Originally had windows 8.1 factory insalled on my HP Pavilion 500-214 Desktop PC. Upgraded to Windows 10 about 6 months ago. Recently had a windows update crash my computer giving me a BSOD, and a startup repair boot loop.
SO... I couldn't load my OS at all so I eventually found a way to try and save whatever I could. I ran the backup and restore software through my startup (Cyberlink HP Recovery Program) and managed to save pictures, videos, and documents to an external hard drive. (They are .WIM files).
I then proceeded to wipe the computer and install windows 7 to avoid any assosciated windows 10 BSOD's. I had driver issues so i upgraded from 7 to 10 once again.
So I am looking for a way to restore my recovery files. I've tried installing the recovery manager and I recieved an error saying I was missing harddisk.dll file.
Any help is appreciated!
