HP E243M
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have a HP E243M monitor connected and mic, cam, speaker and audio out (for headphone) works like they should. I can switch in settings and software between mic and cam from the monitor and the laptop.

But I'm looking for some additional flexibility without having to plug in our out.

1. For audio out (side of the monitor): can I keep my headphone plugged in and switch on the computer (in settings or in specific software) form speakers to headphone?

2a. For audio in (rear of the monitor): I found that it doesn't work just to plug in telephone-style 'ears' (two earpieces and a mic in the cable). This thing has a three-ring plug: should I have a real mic with a one- or two (stereo?) ring plug?

2b. And can can I keep that mic plugged in and switch on the computer (in settings or in specific software) from webcam-mic to this dedicated mic?

This all will help me in all the videoconferences and webinars, so help is much appreciated.

(all regular cable connections work fine: HDMI, VGA, USB etc)
