Elite 8300 SFF
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have installed W10 at this PC belonging to a nabour of me.

I wanted to check some disks of him using my external HD case, a Fantec HDD-Sneaker.

Connected to USB3, a blue led is burning, connected to USB2, a green led is burning.

To my supprise, the led is green when I connect my Fantec to one of the 4 USB3 ports at the back.

My nabour bought this PC second hand, so are these USB3 ports damaged?

I know, that when a USB3 lane is damaged, the port can still work as USB2.

I have inspected the board, but can't see any damages like burning in.

Or, do I have to install USB3 drivers?
At a general websites with drivers, I found a driver for Intel (R) 7 series and for USB3 Host Controller.

But I am always careful with installing drivers from these kind of websites.

Following up:

Today I have installed at another HD W7 and the chipset drivers found at the HP website.

Then the led is blue, so to my opinion the USB3 problem is a W10 problem.
