Just to help anyone else out who searches for Z840 PCIe Slot Bifurcation and find the old locked posts saying that it is not supported... It is now...

 

I just picked up a Z840 from eBay, upgraded the BIOS from M60 1.65 to M60 2.50 and the Bifurcation settings are present in the Advanced | Slot Settings menu.
