OMEN By HP 17-Cb0011nv
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Edit: My problem with the battery calibration was solved. I had to do the procedure of draining the battery and charging the battery a second time. After that, the battery status went back to normal.

Hello,

I have an HP OMEN 17-cb0011nv.

My system has all the latest Windows system updates, Microsoft store updates and HP Support Assistant updates.

I recently updated my System BIOS to the latest version F.35 Rev.A (i upgrated from the default BIOS version F.07 which was the original BIOS version).

After the BIOS update there was a message from HP Support Assistant that my battery is functioning correctly but needs to be calibrated.

I run, as administrator, a battery check from HP PC Hardware Diagnostics Windows and there was a message that the battery needs calibration. Here is my log:

TestVersion = 1.17.5.0

I also performed the battery test from HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI (before windows start) and i run the option to calibrate the battery. Unfortunately after 3 hours the calibration finished but the batery wasn't calibrated. The message that i must calibrate the battery still appears.

I also did a manual calibration. I charged the baterry 100%, unplug the power cord and let the battery drain. Then i charged the battery to 100% again. Unfortunately the problem remains.

The notebook is about a year old and before the bios update, the battery had no problem.

And another thing. After BIOS update the BIOS screen is very dark and the brightness keys don't work, a problem other users had before (see here: My Hp Omen screen dimmed immediately after the last BIOS update ).

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you.
