Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

The monitor switches off / goes dead after 1-2 hours use.  No front light and power key doesn't work.  Back blue light is on indicating there is power to the device.  The laptop for which the monitor is an extended screen continues to work fine and I can blind drag the screen from the dead monitor back onto the laptop screen to continue working.  Has anyone else encountered the same issue with the monitor?  It does appear to be a fault and surely not a feature.  Any comments would be helpful.
