HP OMEN Accelerator Shell - GA1-1000
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

This has been something I've mostly been ignoring by simply disabling the sleep/hibernate options in windows.  However, I recently had my laptop (HP Spectre x360 15t) go in for service, the cause likely being the cooling fans starting to go out on the unit.  This was only after a year of usage, but my guess is it was directly tied to the machine largely being on for extended periods of time.  When I got back the machine, it was of course brought back with all it's defaults, along with the sleep/hibernate options as they were originally, which is why I decided to see if the community had found a solution besides "just don't use sleep/hibernate".

OBSERVATIONS:

  • Peripheral inputs will either ignore user feedback at intermittent intervals
  • Mouse movement may suddenly pause, then jump to another position every half-second to 2 seconds
  • Keyboard inputs may ignore or suddenly multi-press keystrokes
  • Sound being output to headset may suddenly cutout before being restored

REPRODUCING THE ERROR:

  • Open the OMEN Accelerator software
  • Enable OMEN Accelerator connected assets and graphics as the selected choice
  • Allow computer to go to sleep or hibernate
  • Wake up the computer
  • Observe that there will be intermittent pauses in the peripherals connected to the Accelerator shell.

"FIXING" THE ERROR:

  • Power cycle the computer.  ((Which kind of defeats the whole purpose of sleep/hibernate.))
