HP Recommended
Docking Station USB-C G5
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello HP support

The following products:

Windows 10 21H1
Laptop: HP Elite Dragonfly G2
Display: HP Z27k G3 (3840 x 2160p)
Docking station: HP USB-C Dock G5

All firmware, BIOS etc. uptodate and tried everything possible.

Following problem:
According to these specs, it should be possible to operate at least 1x 4k display @ 60Hz without any problems with DP 1.4 even without High Res mode DP Alt Mode (not an alternative for us).
(According to specs even 2 displays should run at 4k@60Hz)

https://h20195.www2.hp.com/v2/GetDocument.aspx?docname=c04168358

Unfortunately, this does not work, the monitor only runs at 30Hz.

The whole hardware setup wasn't cheap and somehow it can't be that it shouldn't be possible to operate at least 1x 4k display with 60Hz,
especially not if this is described in the dock specs.

Does anyone else have this problem or is there a solution or is at least a solution in sight?

According to research on the web, this effectively seems to be a problem with these docking stations.

Thank you very much.
