Product: Elitebook 8470P
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

 Sorry for the second post on the same topic, but I'm hoping someone who has tried this can let me know if it worked. 

 

I have the 8470P with native screen res of 1366x768. I would like to upgrade that to 1600x900. If I also buy the corresponding display cables to go with the new panel, will this upgrade work? I believe all connectors for both screen resolutions are 40 pin.

 

One screen retailer stated that "HD screen (1366x768) uses one channel video cable, while HD+ (1600x900) and Full HD (1920x1080) use 2-channels video cable, thus they are not compatible. You can upgrade screen resolution by switching video cable to Full HD only! Please, refer to manufacturer to find compatible video cables for HD+ and FullHD resolutions." This sounds like it is possible to upgrade if the correct display cable is purchased. Does anyone know?
