I've been having seemingly insoluble problems trying to connect easily to a new wireless network, even though the router is configured with a unique SSID and a fresh Passphrase. The OS is Windows 7 Professional, 64-bit. In this case, the router is configured with a local LAN address of 192.168.3.1, although that doesn't seem to make a difference. I had problems with 192.168.1.1 as well.

When I look under Network Adapters in Device Manager, I see the following items:

Bluetooth Deivce (Personal Area Network)

Bluetooth Device (RFCOMM Protocol TDI)

Intel (r) 82579LM Gigabit Network Connection

Intel (r) Centrino (r) Advanced -N6205

Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport Adapter;

Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport Adapter #2

Teamviewer VPN Adapter.

Are these normal entries, Teamviewer excepted, of course.?

Last but not least, the last question at this point is "What is the proper order for attaching a new router to a cable modem?" By this, I mean "Is there a preferred order for attaching the cable from the modem to the  router and a preferred order for powering up the modem, the router and the notebook?"

What am I missing here? I have a feeling that something may be corrupted but if so, I don't know how to get back to Square One.

Thanks for any advice...
