the fan also started heating up and I got this thermal shut down message...

So I first uninstalled every software I installed or updated last few months...and updated windows... it worked fine for 3-4 days and then again it started giving problems and windows won't boot and freezes at 'starting windows'...

So I Clean reinstalled windows 7 then updated the windows... then started installing drivers from driver DVD came with the laptop... all the drivers on that DVD installed with no error except ATI Video driver and Control Panel...

it gives a black screen with an under scroll flashing at the top left corner after 2-3 minutes when installing...I waited for like 3 hours and nothing happens...

I also tried the driver from HP website and AMD website...both of these gives the same black screen...

right now I'm using Intel(R) HD Graphics 3000...AND I don't like it...plz help

what is the problem here?

Is my graphics card faulty?  or my hard disk is corrupted... How to check these?

Is there anything else that I can do...
