Elitebook 2760p
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

This is a redo of a 2017 archived question of same problem with a Probook 450.  There was no cure posted then.

My 2nd hand 2760p arrived in perfect shape with Win 7 Pro.  After a few weeks I upgraded to Win 10.

Then the problem started.  Randomly the volume mute/unmute activated.  Enter key did nothing.  Automatically did typing of these characters only

zxc\ty,.

And those same keys were dead on keyboard. Most other keys work, I am fairly sure.

The addition of a USB keyboard lets me type in any letters.  Not sure about the mute/unmute since I don't use sound on it.

I replaced the original keyboard with an exact duplicate from new stock.  No improvement.

In Safe Mode the keyboard works perfectly, and no other problem.

After a long search on Internet there was a good guess that an application or some device driver under Win 10 corrupts the communication between the keyboard electronics and the motherboard.  A trial and error attempt to isolate that interference was not successful.

I have an Elitebook 2740p that was also upgraded to Win 10 and it has never had the fault.

Anyone else have this problem?  Any solutions out there?
