Hello, just yesterday I installed a new windows OS on my hp pavilion 15-ay065nr after I had an issue with the previous one. After installation was complete, I visited the support centre to download and update my drivers. I downloaded the BIOS update and after installing, a restart was required which I duly did. Now upon restart the screen showed there was bios update available so I went ahead to install it. The screen turned off again and back on, flashed and went off again. It turned back on and gave me an error as follows
Hard Disk Error
Please run the Hard Disk Test in System Diagnostics.
Hard Disk 1 (3F1)
F2 System Diagnostics
For more information, please visit: www. hp.com/go/techcenter/startup.
Details on what I feel may have caused this:
1. I had a hard disk password on my hard disk so maybe the bios update couldn't access it.
2. I still had the bootable pendrive i used for my windows installation attached to my computer so maybe the bios mistook that as my hard disk.
I have tried to install the OS all over again but once I get to the stage to select the hard drive to install the OS I get and error message that says the computer doesn't not allow installation on this disk.
How do I solve this error please? I use this computer for my studies and now I can't join classes.
