Hi all !
I just wanted to bring out the problem I'm facing to see if someone can help me.
A few days ago I picked up again a 5-6 years old HP 15 laptop to give it to my father but first I wanted to check that everything was working fine. The first thing I noticed was that when switched on the battery stopped charging but when switched off it started charging again.
I first updated all plugins and downloaded all updates but didn't worked. As I actually already had in mind to re-install Windows 10 from scratch I though it was the perfect time. And so I did. Once Windows 10 was re-installed I tried to plug in the power supply and it worked correctly. Then once I installed the SP1 update for Windows 10 it malfunctioned again.
I then though that maybe updating the BIOS could help. So I downloaded the version F.45 and installed it.
With the BIOS update I have now lost the Wifi...
Things I have tried:
- Unistalling/re-installing the Wifi drivers
- Downloading and installing the drivers again from the HP web
- Downgrade the BIOS (each time I try a message pops up saying that the version I'm trying to install is not compatible)
- Using another compatible power supply
- Re-installing Windows 10 (before the BIOS update the power supply problem was solved once re-installed and not applying the SP1 but with the new BIOS it didn't work)
- Windows update
Any help is welcome.
Thanks in advance!
