Hi,
I was having 640 GB of hard drive capacity for my original HP laptop. I replaced it with 1 TB seagate drive and i used USB to SATA HDD enclosure to place my old hard drive as my external hard drive for any data storage use.
But my external hard drive was not showing up whenever plugged in to any computer, although it is getting detected.
I googled and find out that i need to fix the error as it was showing up under :This pC->Manage
It showed the error but i right clicked and convert it to basic disk. It formatted it and now i am able to use it.
Should i convert it back to Dynamic? I mean does it matter if i need to use it as external hard drive only ? Or should i keep it as basic? which one is good for long term reliability purpose? I already read difference in dynamic disk and basic disk but none of the content was regarding using it as external drive only
