Hi,

I need an help on a trouble I am facing after replacing an old battery with a new one.

Replacing the battery has been very simple, but after installing the new original HP battery, the lapton haven't been powered on anylonger. Better, at a first stage, when all the parts were re-assembled and the AC adapter cable plugged-in, the led white light just beside the plug indicating the charging phase. The background led light of the power button was on too.

So pushing the power button, the laptop seemed to boot, but after a while suddenly the power switched off on its own.

After that moment, the laptop seems to be disconnected from any energy supplier: led lights off, laptop dead.

I replaced the battery again with the previous one (the old one) to restore the same conditions when the laptop could boot normally, but nothing changed: laptop was still and dead.

Lately I checked the RTC battery, but it seems to be charged with a 3.1 Volts.

What could have caused the block of the energy system?

Did I make mistake on replacing the battery on my own?

Thanks for your support.

Federico.
