Alright HP beats audio fans Ive been here reading these forums for the last couple of years. Like many of you with beats audio issues with the swing volume and compression issues i am a victim as well. It drove me insane, i searched and searched HP doesnt even have the answer to there own problem leaving us costumers in the dark. Everything i tried on these forums did not work for me at all.  Well i think i may have found a solution. First thing I did was wipe my harddrive using the remove everything option on my laptop under recovery options. It did its job etc...and re-installed the latest windows update the big anniversary one. Once that was done the beats audio on my laptop was still having problems. I went to the registry just to look around and check things out. Under the HKEY Local Machine/Software/SRS Labs/APO Once i clicked on APO there was 2 files i clicked on the second one. In my laptop the first letter was a F followed by more numbers. I'm presuming this is the beats audio stuff there is a lot of presets with folders etc...there, i just looked at them and didnt do anything. I was told to install the threshold 2 update from last year becuase the beats audio fix is on there. I was like i have the anniversary update why do I need to go back. I have all the windows updates on DVD's, so i popped in the threshold 2 update. Once that was done i was then told 2 open up beats audio panel, and the stuff on the left hand side was gone. I still had the beats panel and EQ just that stuff on the left side was missing the beats audio check box and the movie, game sliders.

I opened up wavelab and started playing music no volume swing no compression it sounded **bleep** good. I then went into the registry in the same location as i mentioned above same folders were there, but this time as i was opening folders  some of them of them had nothing inside. I guess the missing items were turned off. What i did next is put in the anniversary update and did the upgrade option so i wouldnt lose my settings etc... i was praying that by doing this the audio drivers and settings wouldnt get touched, and they didnt, thank gawd.  i deleted the windows.old folder and i was good. This worked for my laptop and i dont know if it will work in your laptops or not. You guys can try installing the threshold 2 update etc.. and do the same thing i did to see if it works for you guys. If it doesnt work then someone who knows what beats presets need to be turned off in the registry i can load pictures on here so you guys can copy them.  i know the Max folder had nothing inside of it.  i was told the Max folder has something to do with the issue, but im not sure.
