HP 250 G6 Notebook PC
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Hi everyone,

Does anyone have any ideas why I cannot run BitLocker on an HP Notebook 250 G6 running Windows 7 Enterprise  ?

The laptop was shipped with Windows 10 but I need to run Windows 7 Enterprise.

So brand new out of the box I reimaged the drive after changing the BIOS Boot options back to legacy mode.

I receive the following message when trying to turn on BitLocker on the C: drive      :-

"Starting BitLocker"

"Please wait while BitLocker initializes the drive."

"x  The Trusted Platform Module (TPM) on this computer does not work with the current BIOS, Contact the computer manufacturer for BIOS upgrade instructions"

I checked the BIOS settings. TPM is enabled.

Windows 7  TPM Management status reports back  " The TPM is on and ownership has been taken "

I updated the BIOS to version F32 but this has made no difference.

Device manager lists Security Devices, Trusted Platform Module 2.0

Driver Provider = Microsoft 21/06/2006 , version 6.1.7601.19146

Disk Drives = ST500LTO 12-1DG142 SCSI  Disk Device

Diskpart reports back the following :-

Partition 1  Primary       499MB

Partition 2  Primary        460GB

Partition 3  Recovery  4765MB

Any help would be most appreciated.

thank you
