ZBook 15G6
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

When I tried to do a disk restore from an external hard drive using Acronis True Image 2020, my restore was prevented by Bitlocker; however, I had not selected this Windows 10 Pro disk encryption feature.  This feature is not found on the control panels, so accidental selection is unlikely.  I was able to obtain a recovery key from Microsoft and put my laptop back into operation.  I was then able to deselect Bitlocker and I have successfully upgraded to Acronis True 2021; however, during my ZBook boot process, messages flash on its screen which seem to indicate that some sort of cleanup is needed.  I do not know how to pause the boot process in order to record these messages.

I do not want to use cloud backup.  I am not involved in any sort of criminal or unethical behavior, but government agencies feel free to access what is stored on the cloud.  They have no way to access a disconnected hard drive or to alter its content.  Microsoft, Norton, and Acronis are all pushing users to backup to the cloud.  I am paranoid because I was serving as a communications security officer in Europe at the time of the Hungarian revolution.  I have been behind the curtain.

Many thanks for any help, ideas, or background information.
